DUCH SPORTS celebrates its 60th anniversary
A family success that endures and transforms
1952 - Tignes submerged...
Originally from the village of Tignes, Joseph Duch and his wife Marie, the grandparents, were forced, like all the villagers of Tignes, to abandon their home when, in March 1952, the village was submerged by the waters of the dam. They decided to move to Bourg St Maurice, taking with them their son Jean and his three sisters.
In 1961, the development of the "Super Tignes" ski resort began, and the family decided to build a commercial space and housing on land they owned at the current location of the store.
1964
In 1964, two years after returning from his military service in Algeria, Jean decided to open a ski equipment rental shop and sell accessories, which he started running with his sisters Marie-Rose and Agnès. In 1968, Jeanne-Marie, Jean's wife, joined the business with her brother Donat
1964 - 2004
The family business grew through hard work, with no days off during sometimes long winter seasons and under very challenging conditions (in 1970, the entire building was evacuated due to avalanche risk).
1964-2004
The company has deliberately remained small-scale, as Jean and Jeanne-Marie prioritize personalized and trustworthy relationships with both their staff and customers.
It is not uncommon for customers to come and have an aperitif in the Duch chalet in the evening, or for them to be invited to the weddings of their clients' children.
2004
In 2004, nostalgic for his mountains and tired of Parisian life in a large industrial group, Olivier—Joseph's grandson—took over the family business and continued its development by bringing it into the digital age.
2004 - 2014
Several brands have followed one another on the facade of the Chalet Millonex: Techniciens du Sports, Twinner, and in 2014, a meeting with Francis Charbonnel allowed Olivier to join the Skimium network.
2014 - 2024
The two men share the same values and vision: the customer should leave at the end of their vacation with only one desire—to return, for both the beauty of the site and its attractions, as well as the welcome and service they received. In 2014, by joining forces, they took over a store in Val Claret, allowing Olivier to expand his expertise over a wider area in Tignes.
thank you

Thanks to all of you, we give meaning to our work and continue to keep the family business alive, with that extra touch of soul.
